    Job Title: Engineering Technologist Assc - Engineering Technologist Location: Columbus, OH, 43215 Duration: 12 Months Job Type: Contract Work Type: Hybrid Job Description:
    • Perform electrical transmission system analysis and protection system studies.
    • Accurately model transmission system topology including lines, generators, and transformers for Medium, High, and Extra High Voltages using ASPEN OneLiner.
    • Perform area protection studies and develop relay settings for existing and new transmission line and station protection schemes.
    • Contribute to development of system-wide protection standards for transmission and distribution station protection, metering, and control applications.
    • Perform activities related to NERC P&C standards.
    Preferred:
    • 2+ years modeling transmission and generation system topology using ASPEN OneLiner for Medium, High, and Extra High Voltages Including:
    • Modeling inverter-based generation for both wind and Solar applications
    • Modeling synchronous generation
    • Modeling transmission lines, transformers, and circuit breakers
    • Performing transmission system fault studies including circuit breaker duty analysis
    • 2+ years of working with NERC 693 Compliance Standards
    • Demonstrated experience in developing/modifying Microsoft VBA based macros/tools or Python programing
    • Demonstrated experience with process improvement including process development implementation and training.
    • Experience with ASPEN Software is definitely valuable to the role.
    • Electrical Engineering is preferred
    Minimum Requirements:
    • This is an entry level position for new graduates with a Bachelor's degree in engineering technology in a program accredited by ABET.
    • A degree in engineering technology is the preferred degree: however, engineering degrees will also be considered.
    • Has typically acquired 2 or more years of related experience in work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering technology principles;
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering technology in a program accredited by ABET.

    • ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternatives are (1. a Bachelor's degree in engineering technology (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2. a Bachelor's degree in engineering technology (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering technology from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
    • Each position in the Engineering Technologist job family is responsible to the assigned supervisor to perform intermediate level work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering technology knowledge in a safe, cost-effective and efficient way.
    Essential Job Functions & Tasks: Technical Proficiency:
    • Demonstrates an intermediate level ability to perform with minimal guidance a variety of non-routine technical assignments of a complex nature.
    • Exhibits ability to understand interrelationship between systems and component equipment in area of assignment.
    Leadership & Guidance:
    • Leads, facilitates, and coordinates work activities of others within the work group, team, department or other corporate entity as necessary to perform all routine engineering technology effort.
    • Ensures all work activities are performed in accordance with the policies, practices, standards, and rules of the company.
    Planning & Organization Ability:
    • Organizes and conducts planning meetings covering scheduling, operations, and maintenance of equipment with applicable company and contract personnel.
    • Review trends of material and equipment performance and initiate necessary corrective action.
    Problem Solving & Initiative:
    • Works independently in identifying and resolving complex problems.
    • Seeks to broaden knowledge in areas of the company and industry which will complement acquired technical expertise.
    Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
    • Develops, reviews or prepares technical reports clearly, concisely and effectively.
    • Leads and facilitates meetings effectively.
    • Functions as a team leader and member.
    • Networks with peers inside and outside the client System.
    • Identifies key stakeholders.
    • Uses informal network to get things done.
