POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Floor Tech is responsible for the over all cleanliness and appearance of The Assumption Village and assists with maintenance duties as required.
The Floor Tech aids residents with portage of personal items. In addition, the Floor Tech helps with move-in preparations, moving of furniture, appliances and resident personal possessions, as necessary. The Floor Tech reports directly to the Supervisor, Housekeeping/Laundry Services.
ESSENTIAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Demonstrates Aventura's Mission and values of compassion, excellence, human dignity, justice, sacredness of life and service.
1. Performs general cleaning of facility and residence including sweeping, tile and carpet care and window washing.
2. Removes trash and linens from facility, resident rooms and from grounds. Keeps general traffic areas neat, clean and litter free.
3. Assists in vacant room preparation and resident move-in including moving of furniture and general cleaning.
4. Provides portage of resident's possessions and baggage.
5. Provides assistance with snow removal, lawn care and watering of shrubbery as needed. Areas of responsibility include facility entrances, parking lots, sidewalks leading to entranceways, courtyards and resident/family sitting areas.
6. Performs routine maintenance including, but not limited to, interior painting, wall repair, hanging pictures, changing light bulbs, etc.
7. Assists in resident transportation, as necessary.
OTHER JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Performs other duties as required.
2. Exhibits ability to work as team member and to contribute to the realization of team goals.
3. Cooperates with other workers as members of the work team in order to effect quality performance on behalf of The Village residents.
4. Demonstrates a genuine interest in the elderly and in geriatric care.
5. Exhibits understanding, patience, tact and courtesy when interacting with residents and their families/friends.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.
2. Demonstrated ability to read, write and follow written and verbal direction.
3. Demonstrated ability to operate power tools, high speed buffer etc.
4. Demonstrated good mental and physical health.
5. Demonstrated ability and willingness to perform duties inside the facility and outdoors when necessary.
6. Demonstrated ability to withstand constant standing and walking, frequent lifting and moving of excess of forty pounds.
