    Description

    Position:
    Web Software Developer - Intermediate Work Location: Rock Island, IL Job Summary The candidate will work within a cohesive web development team to design, develop, create, and modify web applications or specialized utility programs
    The candidate will analyze user needs and develop software solutions
    The candidate will design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency
    He/she may analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team

    Responsibilities:

    • Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs
    Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications programming activities.


    • Provides full lifecycle application development.
    • Designs, codes and debugs applications in various software languages.
    • Performs software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis.
    • Modifies existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
    • Designs and develops front end graphical user interface.
    • Performs software testing, and quality assurance.
    • Supports, maintains, and documents software functionality.
    • Integrates software into existing systems.
    • Evaluates and identifies new technologies for implementation.
    • Works with others on the team to provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process and coordinate with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies
    Qualifications 3-8 Years demonstrated/practical hands-on experience as a web application developer with a deep understanding of software design and programming principles
    Proven experience as a web application developer with knowledge of the .Net environment, Visual Studio
    Must be familiar with a variety of operating systems and platforms and have experience in designing and building applications
    In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools.


    • .Net C# (with Visual Studio and TFS) - 5 years minimum experience preferred
    • Microsoft TSQL & SQL Management Studio - 5 years minimum experience preferred
    • HTML/CSS/JavaScript - 3 years minimum experience preferred
    • Microsoft Internet Information Server 8 or higher - 1 year minimum experience preferred
    • Basic knowledge of Windows client and server OS's & basic file system understanding required
    • .Net MVC experience is a plus but not required
    • Net experience is a plus but not required
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
    Relevant work experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree, like Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Crediting Combinations of Education and Experience standard


    • Employee must possess and maintain IA computing environment certifications and access levels in accordance with DoD Directives (DoDD) 8140/ M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002
    • Candidate must have solid knowledge of information security principles and practices, as well as an understanding of security protocols and standards Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time
    Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen
    Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner
    May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.


    • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record may be required
