    Description

    Are you a Clinical Fellow looking to embark on an adventure, but not sure where to go? Perhaps you feel a vague thirst for a change of scenery, but can't decide if you want more big city living, or a slower pace of life?

    There are lots of factors that make Lake Charles, LA appealing. It is a small city, nestled on the banks of Calcasieu Lake. The city is a local getaway, and boasts a fun little board walk and summer festivals by the lake. At 60 miles from Beaumont, Texas, this is a viable residence for Texas graduates who want to move out of state too.

    In addition to being a quaint location, this is an educational community with whom Soliant enjoys an excellent working relationship. We've placed Clinical Fellows year after year, and everyone has told us they were so glad to be part of the speech program here.

    Caseload details and building assignments are in the process of being finalized; interested applicants will be placed on an interview with district administrators to learn more about their duties.

    As an SLP, day-to-day duties include:

    • Assessing students and providing feedback as a member of an evaluation team.
    • Planning therapy activities to promote communication interaction objectives.
    • Designing a therapy plan in accordance with developmental levels of students and their functional skills.

    Education and license requirements:

    • Master's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology
    • Eligibility for a Louisiana license in Speech-Language Pathology (Soliant can provide guidance in the process)
    • Eligibility for a speech and language endorsement on a teacher credential
