Do you want to work on a dynamic team of dedicated, enthusiastic employees with a reputation for integrity, quality, excellence, and teamwork? Saab currently has a need for Database Engineer in our East Syracuse, NY office.

You will be working alongside our System Engineers, other Software Engineers, and Test Engineers as they work toward improving applications that are used by our customers.

We are looking for a Database Engineer with an interest in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from design through deployment and maintenance.

Your focus would be managing the database design, implementation, and migration of the database, along with helping to investigate issues with our production systems.

The ideal candidate would also be able to participate in software creation and design.

The compensation range provided is a general guideline.

Strong Relational database experience with PostgreSQL.
Strong Database setup, design, and optimization skills, including table partitioning, index management and memory settings.
Strong SQL and Query optimization skills.
Strong LINUX environment skills including command line and scripting tools.
Java programming skills.
Object Oriented Analysis and Design Skills.
Experience with database warehouse setup, ETL and reporting environments.
Experience with Flyway database versioning tool, or related.
Experience with unit test frameworks (e.g. Experience with software Design Patterns.
Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in computer science, software engineering or related discipline.
