    JobSummary

    Odyssey House Louisiana,Inc. is seeking a full-time Licensed Counselor or Social Worker to conductevening groups. The schedule for the position is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday8am-5pm and Tuesday, Thursday 11am-8p.

    The Counselor is responsible forperforming a wide variety of client care activities as directed by the ProgramManager and must function in any program of the agency in accordance with statelaw.

    The Counselor will provide specialized services for the assigned caseload;will conduct specialized assessments (when necessary), provide core andancillary group therapies weekly, individual counseling and when appropriate,family therapy.

    The Counselor has the main responsibility for maintainingcommunication with the referral source, court systems, and other involved humanservice providers as related to the client's ongoing treatment and dischargeplanning.

    The Counselor is responsible for working within the multidisciplinaryteam to develop treatment planning, treatment case reviews, and all writtendocumentation as required by the agency, state and federal courts and allfunding sources.

    The Counselor participates in Performance Improvementactivities as assigned.

    Responsibilitiesand Duties

    It is the dutyand responsibility of the Counselor to:


    • provideclinical services to assigned client(s): conduct group therapies weekly,individual counseling and/or familytherapy as outlined in treatment plan; co-leads group therapies (whennecessary) with appropriately assigned staff; conducts family assessments /therapy when possible;
    • functionas a liaison to outside agencies, participate in case planning conferences, andtreatment meetings as needed;
    • attend court hearings and represents theagency and client(s) when necessary;
    • maintainclinical case file for each client to include: assessments, IndividualTreatment Plan,
    Case notes, and discharge summaries;


    • ensureall written reports are up-to-date in case file;
    • attendstaff meetings and all other meetings as needed;
    • maintaincontact with and is available to agency personnel, client's drug court officerand family members as needed regarding client's progress, problems and crises;
    • providecrisis management when indicated by client need;
    • attendregularly scheduled in-service training as assigned;
    • completeadministrative projects as assigned;
    • complete all Incident Reports prior to the end of scheduled shiftas required by Incident Policy and Procedure;
    • assist with the planning and organization of therapeutic clientactives both on and off the Main Campus;
    • maximizeunits of services and maintain contract units of service by working withclients to stay engaged in treatment;
    • adhere to allLouisiana Department of Health and Agency contract requirements;
    • work with andapply American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria to treatment planning;
    • work withBayou Health providers for initial authorization (if needed) and concurrentauthorizations;
    • follow statelicensing requirements;
    • participatein Quarterly training with staff;
    • participatein Council on Accreditation sight review;
    • maintainCouncil on Accreditation standards;
    • coordinateand working with other departments;
    • maintainindividual licensing requirements, participates in electronic medical recorddocumentation;
    • treat clientsand other staff with dignity and respect;
    • must be ableto complete work in allotted amount of time;
    • notifymanagers when they are aware of other staff not following agency policy andprocedures;
    • ensure thatall sign in sheets are printed for group and all groups are batched forbilling; and
    • perform otherduties as assigned.
    Qualificationsand Skills

    Required:


    Minimum qualifications include the following:

    • Master'sdegree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, or related Human Service Field froman accredited Program
    • Avalid Louisiana State issued license in either counseling, addictioncounseling, or social work
    • Skilledin individual and group therapy modalities
    • Demonstratedinterest in working towards highest level of Louisiana licensure withindiscipline
    • Experiencein substance abuse treatment modalities (Emphasis on Minnesota Model)
    • Excellentwritten, verbal, organizational, and communication skills
    • Ability to be creative and flexible within parameters of treatmentprograms and modalities
    • Written and verbal communication skills
