    Peer Specialist / Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA)

    We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Specialist/Certified Recovery Peer Advocate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of recovery principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for empowering individuals in their journey towards wellness.

    Job Summary

    The Peer Specialist/Certified Recovery Peer Advocate will work closely with individuals in recovery, providing support, guidance, and advocacy to help them achieve their personal goals. This role is ideal for someone who has a deep understanding of the recovery process and is passionate about helping others.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement personalized recovery plans that meet the unique needs and goals of each individual.
    • Link individuals to community resources and services that can support their recovery journey.
    • Teach coping skills and strategies to help individuals manage stress and overcome challenges.
    • Provide non-clinical crisis support after periods of hospitalization or incarceration.
    • Accompany individuals to court appearances and medical appointments to provide emotional support and advocacy.
    • Engage individuals in formal recovery support services, such as self-help groups and peer-led programs.
    • Educate individuals and families on various modes of recovery, including wellness planning and relapse prevention.

    Requirements:

    • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) Certification within six months of hire and maintenance of certification throughout employment.
    • High School Graduate or Equivalency required.
    • One year of Health or Human Service experience preferred.
    • An individual does not need to be in recovery themselves but must be able to confer empathy through lived experiences such as family and/or close friends.
    • A valid NYS Driver's License is required.

    Salary Range:

    $18.67 - $21.36 per hour.
