Job Overview:
Ferrari Lawn & Landscape is seeking a dedicated, hardworking landscaping & hardscaping laborer who is highly motivated and would like to join our professional team. This position involves having a working knowledge of landscaping machinery and experience in the field of landscape, hardscape, and equipment operation. We pride ourselves on using the highest quality products to deliver outstanding results and superior customer service. Competitive compensation based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Work with landscaping crew to prepare and alter properties for landscaping/hardscaping projects
- Operate skid steer and mini excavator to grade, install drainage, install plants/trees, and more
- Properly operate landscape equipment including but not limited to zero turn lawn mowers, weed whackers, blowers, aerators, overseeder, etc.
- Work with various materials, planting, pruning, and mulching
- Install various hardscape elements including pavers, concrete, patios, retaining walls, fire pits, stairs, pillars, and more
- New landscaping and lawn installation, sod, asphalt cut and patch, excavation, foundation work, and related types of work
- Drive company vehicle to and from job sites
- Interpret designs to ensure accurate installation
- Operate and maintain hardscape equipment and tools
- Practice job site safety
- Positively engage with customers and homeowners
- Effectively communicate with supervisor and other team members
- Work with various materials and ensure that all work meets industry standards and client expectations for quality and safety
- Assist in the preparation of work sites by clearing debris and setting up materials
- Ability to complete all tasks as directed
- Transport materials and equipment to and from job sites as needed
- Ability to safely operate machinery and take proper care of equipment
- Driving trucks with trailers
- Be professional on customers' property
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Follow instructions from supervisory staff to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to ensure a safe and productive environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the field of landscaping and hardscaping is required
- Ability to take a project from start to finish to include setting grades, paver base layers, installation of pavers, planting, grading of soil and seeding, drainage and foundation work
- 1 year experience in equipment operation such as skid steers/excavators, is required
- Strong leadership skills
- Proficiency in working with various hardscape materials including pavers and concrete
- Strong understanding of hardscape design principles and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret hardscape project plans
- Valid driver's license
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be a team-player with a positive attitude and strong work-ethic
- Must be organized with attention to detail
- Comfortable multitasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
- Punctual with strong attendance history
- Ability to properly operate hardscape construction equipment
- Adequate knowledge of hardscape materials
- Ability to work in all seasonal temperatures and conditions as needed
- Ability to problem solve and adapt quickly on your feet
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Schedule:
- Work days/hours are weather dependent and flexible. Usually Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm to include a 30 minute lunch break; some Saturdays as needed due to weather and/or project.
