Job Summary:
Assists licensed nursing staff in patient care and nursing procedures.
Functions as part of the hemodialysis team to provide safe and effective dialysis therapy in accordance with established policies and procedures, and operates dialysis equipment under the direct supervision of licensed personnel.
Uses understanding of the principles of growth and development to meet each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
Ensure that the patient care area is stocked.
Education/Training/Certification Requirements:
High School graduate
Previous dialysis experience
Successful completion of Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CHHT) exam, offered by Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing and Technology (BONENT) or Nephrology Nursing Certification Organization (NCCO)
Successful completion of Ishihara Color Blindness test. Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
