    The Court Security Internship will work with the Security and Safety team to provide security of a courtroom or courthouse. It is the security officer's responsibility to assist in the orderly operation of the premises and to ensure the safety of the staff and users of the court. The officer provides general assistance to the judicial officer by ensuring that business in the courtroom flows peacefully and orderly. Work is performed under the supervision of management.

    The internship program provides an opportunity for students to use their skills and knowledge in a practical setting and learn about the career opportunities available in the Judiciary. We are focused on college students who have completed 30+ credits toward an associate or bachelor's degree with basic knowledge of the criminal justice or law enforcement fields.

    Minimum Requirements for Court Security Intern:

    This is a full-time 10-week internship program based in Montpelier, VT. Salary is $18.37 per hour. This is a temporary position with no benefits. Housing is not provided, so you must be living in Vermont or have planned for housing to be in Vermont for the 10-week period.
