    POSITION SUMMARY:


    Responsible for preparation of financial statements for daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for all companies and supervising all duties related to the accounting function including A/P, A/R and billing, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.

    This position will be responsible for timely general ledger postings and closings to ensure accurate financial reports and annual audits.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
    • Provide training and on-going education for all employees of the department as well as perform annual reviews, recommend merit increases, approve time-off requests, counsel and provide disciplinary actions with the help of HR, monitor staff's day-to-day performance, and perform coaching and counseling.
    • Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
    • Develop and prepare reports/analysis for meaningful monthly actual results.
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, and year-end financial journal entries and reports.
    • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of month-end and year-end closings.
    • Audit & oversee monthly reconciliations.
    • Maintain fixed assets.
    • Maintain the chart of accounts.
    • Guide all operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, facility billings & collections, cash application, and payroll.
    • Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis.
    • Analyze and accurately report current month's financial results corporate management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements.
    • Reconcile all inter-company accounts monthly.
    • Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate financial management.
    • Assist in the completion of special projects.
    • Other accounting, financial, or administrative duties as assigned by management.
    • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports that relate to the accounting, payroll, finance or Accounts Payable departments.
    • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies work procedures and instructions.
    • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations if applicable, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel with a goal of developing a team-oriented approach with positive results. Assist in driving performance management. Comply with all employment laws and support affirmative action/equal opportunity and diversity goals.

    Qualifications

    Education/Licensing/Certification:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
    • Minimum of five years of accounting management experience required,
    • Experience in healthcare accounting is required.
    • Experience with Sage accounting software preferred.
    • Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills required.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Excellent command of Excel, Access, and Outlook and other computer skills required.
    • Professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal and written as well as verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage a variety of administrative assignments, including confidential and general administrative and clerical duties.
    • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of personalities and situations requiring judgment and poise.
    • Detail-oriented and well-organized job ethic with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
