    Job Description

    DOUGLAS, GEORGIA

    OPERATIVE JOB DESCRIPTION

    JOB TITLE: CUT OFF OPERATOR

    DEPARTMENT: ROUGH FINISHING

    JOB FUNCTION:

    The Cut-off Operator must be able to perform all operations and operate equipment efficiently.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check all tags for proper identification
  • Remove test material and place in tray with mold tag for kevex check, run kevex unit when required
  • Stamp heat number on casting for identification, record lot control as required
  • Cut-off castings, trim excess gating
  • Lift and dump 30 gallon barrels containing molds
  • Visually inspect work for obvious defects
  • Record on a daily basis all work performed by operational codes
  • Keep work area clean, orderly and in a safe working condition, follow all safety rules
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor
  • EDUCATION:

    High school education.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Three months OJT training.

    INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY:

    Normal initiative and ingenuity.

    EFFORT:

    Normal effort required.

    Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, approximately 10-20 times per hour. Use chain hoist for heavier weights.

    RESPONSIBILITY:

    Responsible for self. Make sure parts meet quality standards. Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.

    JOB CONDITIONS:

    Dirty working conditions due to ceramic pieces and dust.
