- Medication Dispensing: Accurately dispense medications in accordance with prescription orders, ensuring patient safety and compliance with legal requirements.
- Clinical Support: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide clinical support, including drug information, therapeutic interventions, and monitoring for adverse drug reactions.
- Order Verification: Review and verify medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and adherence to formulary guidelines.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of pharmacy services and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Patient Education: Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer any related inquiries to ensure proper understanding and adherence.
- Emergency Response: Actively participate in emergency response procedures, providing timely and accurate medication support during critical situations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, prescription files, and other necessary documentation.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed about new medications, treatment protocols, and industry developments through ongoing education and training.
- PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina
