    Job DescriptionSubstation Design Engineer

    The Substation Design Engineer is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of substations. Substations are electrical power distribution facilities that convert high voltage electricity from transmission lines to lower voltage electricity for distribution to homes and businesses.

    The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and 10-20 years of experience in substation design. Experience with power engineering software, such as AutoCAD and EPLAN, is essential. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

    Responsibilities of the Substation Design Engineer include:

    • Designing substations in accordance with electrical codes and standards
    • Preparing construction drawings and specifications
    • Supervising the construction of substations
    • Maintaining substations
    • Troubleshooting substation problems
