Description
Post-Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) provide care for patients during the peri-operative process in a hospital-based facility. The unit emphasizes teamwork and dedication, offering a diverse range of inpatient and outpatient procedures for educational growth. Collaborative efforts within the team focus on improving patient care and enhancing the overall environment. * The PACU team consists of a mix of patients undergoing various surgeries under moderate and general anesthesia. Surgical procedures cover specialties such as general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiothoracic, vascular, bariatric, and urology. * With a 28-bed capacity, the unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 or 1:1 for higher care needs. The team provides critical care support and continuous patient monitoring during recovery. * Candidates with critical care experience are preferred, along with the required ACLS and PALS certifications. The fast-paced environment demands strong critical thinking skills and collaboration with anesthesia providers and surgeons. * **Qualifications:** Current RN license and eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri or current licensure. **Certifications:** BLS certification, ACLS, and PALS completed within the specified timeframes. * The benefits package includes health, vision, and dental coverage, tuition reimbursement, and retirement funds for eligible employees.
