    Job title: Diagnostic Medical Physicist

    Description

    This is a Diagnostic Medical Physicist role at Sentara.

    We are hiring for a full-time position based in Charlottesville, VA with services to surrounding sites in the Blue Ridge region. This onsite position has a Monday through Friday schedule from 8AM to 4:30PM with some variation of hours required for business needs.


    Main Responsibilities:
    • Maintain knowledge in all aspects of diagnostic imaging physics, including new technologies and practices
    • Proficiency in all diagnostic radiology modalities such as CT, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound and general x-ray (radiography and fluoroscopy)

    A key aspect of this role involves maintaining expertise across various imaging modalities while ensuring radiation safety principles are applied effectively.

    This includes understanding radioactive materials licensing requirements and patient radiation dose calculations along with evaluating outcomes related to patients' fluoroscopy exposure during Interventional Radiology procedures. Additionally proficiency in design of shielding against harmful levels is also necessary
