    Summary



    The Registered Nurse - Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of care for specialized invasive cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, in the Cardiac Catheterization / Electrophysiology Lab, that assist in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of cardiovascular disease.

    The Cardiac Cath/EP Structural Heart Lab (CCESL) Nurse Manager will manage daily operations, departmental budgets, quality assurance, performance improvement initiatives, and the hiring, training, and evaluating of all staff. The CCESL Manager reports directly to the Chief of Surgical lnterventional Procedures (SIPS), and performs related duties within the Cardiology section including timecards, and section goals.

    Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Establishes policies, procedures, and practices that are consistent with industry, community, academic and regulatory agency standards that promote safe patient care and adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals.
    • Is responsible for the supervision of all staff within the CCESL.
    • Represents Cardiology and acts as a liaison with other services/sections and disciplines.
    • Ensures efficient and effective lab operations, budgetary requirements, quality control and implementation, and maintenance of a continuous performance improvement plan.
    • Hiring and training of all staff to include resume reviews, interviews, staff recruitment and retention.
    • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Oversees ACLS, BLS, proficiencies for the Cardiology Section.
    • Develops and maintains effective orientation program and assigns/delegates responsibilities.
    • Effectively determines the qualifications and competence of staff.
    • Staff evaluation, including annual proficiencies and makes recommendations for merit awards.
    • Communicates effectively with staff in huddles, emails, and individual and team meetings.
    • Encourages teamwork, collaboration, and innovation in an environment that promotes diverse views.
