Overview of the

Senior Security Engineer:
BetaNXT is seeking a Senior Security Engineer.

This role ensures that adequate and effective security processes, controls, and life cycles are followed to deliver network, cloud, and application security best practices to follow BetaNXT security policy and regulatory requirements.

This candidate will support the information security program, establish assessments, and manage and track risk mitigation/remediation activities.

Additionally, this candidate will support the development and implementation of company-wide security awareness and compliance efforts by providing guidance to developers, other architects, and organization members.

They will also lead continuous development and enhancements of shared application frameworks while acting as an advanced collaborator with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to develop, monitor, and tune security controls to support BetaNXT's commitment to Zero Trust Architecture.

This role reports to the Chief Information Security Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities of the

Senior Security Engineer:

Participates in the development and implementation of information security policies and procedures; develops security guidelines and safe practices for company-wide computing and networking systems.

Demonstrates experience with cloud services and understand the pitfalls and potential security problems with traditional cloud deployments.
Ensures both preventative and detective security controls in the cloud environments.

Coordinates the handling and resolution of security breach incidents, including system intrusions and abuse, and acts as a primary point of contact.

Assists with defining cloud security standards in a multi-cloud environment.
Responds to and evaluate alerts and events from security tools.
Performs threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, and system audit reviews.
Provides expert advice on risk assessment, threat modeling, and fixing vulnerabilities.
Designs, implements, and supports security-focused tools and services.

Skills and Experience of the

Senior Security Engineer:

5+ years in the information security fieldExperience in implementing and supporting information security policies and procedures and security practices for company-wide computing and networking systems.

Experience handling and resolving incidents of security breaches, including system intrusions and abuse; acts as a primary point of contact.

Hands on experience with CNAPP, protecting cloud-native workloads across multiple cloud providers.

Experience with cloud security posture management toolingExperience supporting information security design concepts, including testing and implementation of security software enhancements.

Experience and knowledge of implementing and managing Enterprise PKI infrastructure.
Experience and knowledge of the implementation and administering of encryption solutions.

Experience and knowledge of industry IDS/IPS, logging, vulnerability, monitoring, firewall technology, wireless security, Anti-virus protection, OS patching, data loss prevention, and SIEM technology and solutions.

Knowledge of regulatory compliance regulations such as NIST, SAN, ISO, SOX, PCI, and PIIMust be able to interact with other teams across the organization effectively.

Ability to manage multiple tasks along a parallel process.
CISSP, CCSP, SANS GIAC or other IS certifications are a plus, but not required.
