    Job Summary: Hydro North America is dedicated to working together with customers to develop solutions that help meet their needs. The product development team is a diverse group of engineers and designers working to drive the use of aluminum extrusions in North America through new product development, product design, design for manufacturability, metallurgy, customer education and new program launch. In this role you will support the team to create, document, develop, and implement procedures required to assemble, test, process, and manufacture Aluminum extrusions, components, and assemblies. As a result of the rapidly growing demand for aluminum in today's vehicles, Hydro is seeking to provide a greater focus on automation in their manufacturing processes.

    This position will provide you with the opportunity to use your engineering skills to develop creative new ways to process aluminum extrusions throughout the value chain, expand your knowledge of aluminum design and industrial manufacturing processes, and work with colleagues in a wide variety of disciplines, from manufacturing engineers to market analysts. This person will work closely with our customers and be a liaison between internal Quality, product development teams, plant personnel, our Commercial team, key Customer contacts as well as working closely with integrators, robotic vendors, and other industrial suppliers.

    Required Education/Experience:

  • B.S. in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience, master's preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience as manufacturing engineer in any production environment.
  • Minimum two (2) years manufacturing engineering experience with fabrication background.
  • Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English is mandatory, bi-lingual is a plus.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in the automotive or related industry is a plus.
  • Ability to manage and organize project, meet deadlines, and support internal and external customer needs.
  • Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing process techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
  • Work with teams on benchmarking studies of processes and equipment
  • Work with Product Development, and plant teams on process concepts, equipment requirements, and new technologies
  • Assist in writing capital budget plans for new projects
  • Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
  • Consult with suppliers in determining product specifications, arranging equipment, parts, or materials, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
  • Estimating staffing requirements, production times, and relative cost to provide data for operational decisions.
  • Working closely with plant manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
  • Provide engineering support to plants to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
  • 50% travel required.
