    What you will be doing:
    Reporting to the Revenue Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:


    Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service in all interactions

    You maintain a perpetual presence for the meeting planner by remaining attentive and answering client questions in a professional and warm manner


    You input group rooming lists using reservation systems, revise room blocks to maintain the required number of available rooms and keep organized files of all groups.


    You update reservations including cancellations, rescheduling and shortening length of stay requests received by phone, fax or email in accordance with Sofitel Washington D.C.

    Lafayette Square group reservation policies

    You maintain group block inventory accurately and communicate changes and questions with revenue management and event services.


    You monitor group block cutoff dates, providing written reminders to clients in advance and ensuring revenue management and event services are aware if rooming lists are expected to be late and/or block inventory will be released.

    You set-up proper billing accounts according to accounting policies.

    You ensure revenue is maximized by up-selling guest rooms and recommending hotel facilities when applicable

    You respond to any challenges found for accommodating rooming requests by communicating with appropriate individual or department

    You liaise with Sales and other departments as required

    You provide reservation and pick up reports upon request

    You will cross reference Group resumes with system information and ensure accuracy, when necessary

    Attend all Pre-Planning and/or Pre-Conference Meetings with clients and Event Sales Managers

    Other duties as assigned

    Customer Service experience required; Must possess outstanding guest services skills, sophisticated verbal & written communication skills

    Computer literate in Microsoft Windows/Microsoft Excel applications preferred

    Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment

    Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

    Highly responsible & reliable
