    Inside the Role

    The HDEP Engine Assembly supervisor is responsible for driving, maintaining and improving overall production performance in Engine Assembly operations (TT/ODA). Central to this positioning is effectiveness leading production teams towards excellence both in their behaviors and results with a key focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People (Morale) and Environmental metrics. Additionally, this position closely collaborates and partners with quality, maintenance, line engineers, scheduling, and logistics functions to tireless achieve customer requirements.

    This position is currently designated for 2nd (Afternoon) shift in HDEP Assembly but may ultimately lead to opportunities on 3rd (Midnights) or 1st (Days) shift within the TT/ODA organization.

    Position offers a starting salary range of$90,000 - $115,000 USD

    Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience

    What You Drive at DTNA

    Drive positive results in key metrics SQDCME (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Employee Morale and Environmental). Continuously improve metrics by leading and coaching teams in practical problem-solving activities related to top SQDCME issues:

    Safety:

    • Promote and facilitate a safe and ethical working environment and culture while maintaining adherence to all safety policies and standards.
    • Proactively identify potential safety hazards in the work area and mitigate the risk of injuries.
    • Oversee area safety and environmental training and other requirements and ensure completion.
    • Perform accident investigations.
    • Promote, support and coach team on maintaining a clean work area using the 5S methodology.

    Quality:

    • Maintain highest levels of quality within the production unit.
    • Monitor quality metrics and work with quality team to implement containment & corrective action in order to achieve Quality targets.

    Delivery/Cost:

    • Oversee daily production requirements and ensure targets are met.
    • Plan and coordinate contingency and recovery plans for downtime and equipment failures.
    • Partner with Maintenance on preventative measures to support equipment wellness.
    • Continuously improve constraints and bottleneck processes.
    • Plan and allocate resources to support the daily requirements within area(s) of responsibility.

    Morale:

    • Coach and mentor the daily activities of direct reports
    • Coach, motivate, and develop team members to higher levels of performance
    • Clarify expectations, regularly communicate, provide ongoing performance feedback, and counsel assigned employees
    • Track and monitor shift, team, and individual employee performance
    • Support cross training plans to increase team flexibility.
    • Manage time and attendance of direct reports.
    • Utilize assigned team leader(s) in Lean Principles to promote and develop a continuous improvement culture
    • Effectively support and follow all policies outlined in the contract, handbook, and/or policy guide

    Other responsibilities:

    • Develop comprehensive understanding of all production process and job assignments within department
    • Develop comprehensive knowledge of all engine components and functionality
    • Supervise a unionized workforce
    • Demonstrate rigorous KPI tracking and development of effective countermeasures
    • Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product while operating within designated cost and budgetary targets
    • Identify, coordinate and implement changes in working conditions including innovation of equipment/technology to increase efficiency and quality - with demonstrable impact to internal KPI's.
    • Support and ensure change point and launch activities in coordination with local functions.
    • Monitor, supervise and revise processes in case of deviation to the planned output
    • Interpret company policy to workers and enforce safety and environmental regulations while complying with terms of contractual labor agreement
    • Maintain time, attendance and production records for all employees
    • Complete Team Leader evaluations (according to required interval)
    • Prepare shift hand-over/end of shift reports with counterparts (conduct effective face to face handovers before and after assigned shift)
    • Facilitate a culture of Continuous Improvement, Empowerment and TOS principals in every area of the business
    • Engage in close interactions with the Scheduling team to coordinate builds to meet customer demand as needed (esp. relative to hot engines/out of process components)
    • Create and maintain tactical implementation plans (TIPS) to monitor completion of projects
    • Ensure continual implementation of safe and clean work areas through implementation of 5S methodologies
    • Utilize impulse/other platforms to set individual performance targets, define contributions and performance feedback
    • Pursue individual training/development plans (including salaried training matrix) to improve versatility and competencies as an integral part of the TT/ODA team

    Knowledge You Should Bring

    • BS/BA and 4 years of relevant experience or 6+ years relevant experience in lieu of a degree
    • Knowledge of or ability to apply Lean/Continuous improvement tools and principles
    • Prior experience leading teams or projects to achieve elevated levels of performance and engagement in a manufacturing or logistics setting is required
    • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information, handle sensitive issues, and translate, simplify, and clarify information for employees is required
    • Must be willing and able to complete all required Supervisor training and apply learnings.
