Position Overview
This is a hybrid office and outdoor position supporting kayak and paddleboard rental operations in a
fast-paced, tourism-driven waterfront environment. Responsibilities include managing multiple
reservation systems and phones, handling office work, and supporting outdoor rental operations. This role is responsible for managing customer check-ins, including providing parking instructions and Navigation guidance to ensure a smooth arrival. We're also looking for someone to help with occasional social media posting 2-3 times a week.
Important Requirements
Background check required
CPR/AED training required (provided by Murphs Surf)
Must be comfortable working outdoors and in the water daily
Must be able to lift and move kayaks and paddleboards
Weekend and holiday availability essential
Availability must begin at 8:30 AM (arrival time requirement)
Must be able to operate a computer with multiple screens
Must be comfortable answering phone calls and responding to emails
Must manage customers filling out waivers and assist with the waiver process
Must guide customers on where to go using video overviews (training provided)
Availability & Scheduling Expectations
Provide availability at least two (2) weeks in advance
Consistent availability during peak tourism periods
Schedule updates must be communicated clearly and on time
Schedule & Arrival Expectations
Arrival by 8:30 AM (required)
Shift typically ends between 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, or until all customers have returned
Rentals may begin as early as 9:00 AM
Morning setup includes beach prep, equipment prep, reservation review, and assisting walk-up
customers
What You'll Be Doing
Assist customers with rentals
Check in guests and process waivers
Manage reservations and monitor bookings across multiple systems
Answer phone calls and respond to emails
Provide safety briefings and route video overviews (training provided)
Provide parking and navigation instructions during check-in
Launch and retrieve equipment (waist-deep water expected)
Equipment & Facility Responsibilities
Inspect equipment after rentals
Wash and reset gear
Assist with inventory and light maintenance
Maintain shared marina workspace (sweeping and trash removal)
