    Job Description
    The Upward Bound Program: TRIO Upward Bound is a federally funded pre-college preparatory program designed to help eligible students successfully graduate high school and pursue a post-secondary education. Summer programming includes skill development through academic courses, career and college exploration in addition to social/cultural enrichment activities.

    June 17-July 25 Classes (Tuesdays & Thursdays)

    As an ACCE Access to College and Career Exploration (ACCE) Instructor, your primary responsibility is to facilitate and guide individuals through the Access to College and Career Exploration program. This program is designed to provide participants with valuable insights into various career paths, skill development, and college readiness. Your role involves delivering engaging and informative sessions, assisting participants in identifying their interests and strengths, and offering guidance on potential career opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Facilitation: Conduct interactive sessions to introduce participants to different career options, industries, and job roles.
    • Individual Guidance: Work one-on-one with participants to help them explore their interests, skills, and aspirations.
    • Skill Development: Provide guidance on developing essential job-related skills, such as resume writing, interview techniques, and professional communication.
    • Resource Coordination: Collaborate with resources within the ACCE program and external partners to ensure participants have access to relevant career exploration tools and materials.
    • Assessment: Evaluate participants' progress and adapt the program to meet their evolving needs and goals.
    • Networking: Foster connections with employers, industry professionals, and community organizations to create opportunities for participants to network and gain insights into specific career fields.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of participants' progress and outcomes to assess the effectiveness of the program.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, career development, or a related field.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of career development principles and resources.
    • Experience in facilitating workshops or training sessions is preferred.
    • Ability to adapt and tailor guidance to meet the diverse needs of participants.
    • Passion for helping individuals explore and achieve their career goals.

    Physical Demands
    This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; uses office machinery such as a computers, printers, copy machines; Occasionally involves lifting over 10 pounds; frequently will move between different offices/workspaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities with students.
