    Job Title: Sourcing Specialist at SRG Products

    Are you a skilled negotiator with a passion for procurement and supplier management? Join our team at SRG Products as a Sourcing Specialist and take on the exciting challenge of overseeing the purchasing process for commodities, materials, components, and equipment used in manufacturing and assembly.

    Responsibilities:

    • Strategically manage commodity responsibilities across multiple production locations
    • Develop suppliers and negotiate favorable terms
    • Direct purchasing activities and oversee supplier maintenance
    • Implement quality initiatives and manage delivery/inventory
    • Drive cost savings initiatives and manage engineering/program changes
    • Utilize computer systems for inventory organization and analysis
    • Collaborate with sales and purchasing teams to meet customer needs
    • Analyze sales trends to forecast consumer buying patterns
    • Set pricing strategies and authorize payment for merchandise
    • Conduct staff meetings and introduce new products
    • Support buying strategies for cost-effective decisions
    • Manage new supplier development and sourcing process
    • Analyze supplier pricing and negotiate agreements
    • Ensure purchasing activities are within budget and uphold ethics
    • Establish continuous improvement areas and negotiate cost reductions
    • Develop strategic plans and maximize program profitability
    • Participate in various projects and activities

    Nature & Scope:

    This role reports to the Sourcing Manager and involves working closely with a team of buyers and material planners. The team manages a supply base of $250 million, 40 suppliers, and approximately 1,770 part numbers across 4 factories. The position may involve domestic and foreign travel.

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Experience in foreign and domestic sourcing with strong negotiating skills
    • Knowledge of MRP and vendor partnering
    • Quality program experience and familiarity with EDI implementation
    • Effective communication and negotiation in a global market
    • Building positive relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues
    • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
    • Interaction with various business functions and analytical reasoning
    • Inventory and quality management training/certification

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Business, Supply Chain, or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of recent buyer/purchasing experience
