- Evaluating patients, obtaining patient past medical history, ordering appropriate imaging and interpreting tests.
- Charting, reviewing records, reviewing narratives, orthopaedic examinations, follow up phone calls, pre-operative, and post-operative care.
- Explain complicated medical information and treatment options to patients.
- Communicate to the patient, loved ones and family members the diagnosis, procedure(s) and information in a way that the patient and family members are well informed and understand the diagnosis as well as procedure and post operative care.
- Refer patients for physical therapy, pain management and other healthcare professionals.
- Reading MRIs, X-Rays, CT scans, EMGs (nerve conduction studies).
- Physician Assistant degree required.
- Currently licensed to practice in the state of New Jersey.
- Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently.
- Must have excellent communication and computer skills.
- Familiar with orthopaedic evaluations as well as extremities.
- Know how to read MRIs, CT scans and imaging relevant to spinal care and orthopaedic care.
- Should be well spoken and be able to explain complicated medical information and treatment options to patients.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities, organizational skills, prioritize work assignments, communicate effectively, and demonstrate time management.
- The ideal candidate must show commitment to always providing compassionate care to patients with a focus on quality.

At Progressive Spine & Orthopaedics, our team of acclaimed spinal surgeons and pain relief specialists deliver a wide scope of non-invasive and surgical as well as non-surgical treatments for spinal conditions. From traditional procedures like lumbar spinal fusion, sports medicine and disc replacement surgery to more advanced and minimally invasive techniques like robotic spine surgery.
SUMMARY:
The Physician Assistant is a very important part of our team and plays an integral role in ensuring quality and compassionate healthcare while also displaying clinical skills. The Physician Assistant will provide patient services under the direct supervision and responsibility of the designated supervising staff physician. The PA should effectively communicate with the doctors in the group about medical findings and patient treatment plans. The PA should be able to assess and prioritize patient concerns and determine when a quick, prompt response is required in order to ensure patient safety.
