Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Instructor — Part-Time
Location: Greensboro, NC
Schedule: Monday–Friday | School Day Hours
Position Type: Part-Time
Join Our Team
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Instructor to work with elementary and middle school students (Grades K–8) during the school day. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with youth and want to make a meaningful impact in the classroom.
The SEL Instructor will facilitate structured lessons that support students' emotional growth, behavior skills, and positive relationships. Curriculum and materials are provided — no lesson planning required.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate SEL lessons inside classrooms serving approximately 15–25 students per class
- Work with students in grades K–8 during school hours
- Lead engaging discussions, activities, and skill-building exercises
- Teach topics including respect, self-awareness, empathy, relationship skills, sportsmanship, responsible decision-making, and conflict resolution
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Ability to manage classroom
- Support appropriate student behavior using positive reinforcement
- Collaborate with school staff as needed
- Take attendance and monitor participation
Minimum Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lead groups of children and maintain classroom structure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field
- Experience working with children in schools, camps, youth programs, or childcare settings
- Experience facilitating groups or leading classroom activities
