General Description

Would you like to be a part of a program that can serve people in crisis when they need it most and be a leader in the crisis field as 988 gains national attention?

The Crisis Care/Respite Program does all of that and more.

Since 1983, the Crisis Care Program has provided a 24/7 crisis line and an 8-bed, voluntary, inpatient, 24/7 respite stabilization program for clients in crisis.

Since 2018, the Crisis Care Program has also provided services to Lake County residents who call 988 and is currently one of six locations in the state to do so.

Scheduled Hours:

Variety of shifts and hours: 1st, 2nd or 3rd (Part-time)
Rotating weekends and some on-call responsibilities.

* $5.00 per hour shift differential for working hours deemed eligible for shift and weekend premium.

Essential Functions

Provides crisis/respite intervention services to clients via the crisis hotline, in-person, and clients in the inpatient residential unit.
Evaluate and assess clients for level of care.
Prepares and implements treatment plans with clients.
Provides therapeutic and supportive services to clients, including individual, group, and case management.
Responsible for unit coverage and emergency telephone interventions.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or
Bachelor's in any field and two (2) years experience, or
High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience
Must possess a valid driver's license.

As a public health department, we believe in the science, data, and power of vaccines, like the influenza vaccine, to protect against and prevent illness.

Therefore, we require all Health Department staff to receive the annual influenza vaccine unless they have an approved medical or religious exemption.

Any offer of employment is conditioned on the successful completion of a background screening, and drug and alcohol testing and may include a pre-employment medical exam.
