How you contribute:The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is pivotal in patient care, aiding in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the nursing process.
With oversight from RN(s), the LPN offers guidance in patient education and activities aligned with their expertise and demonstrated skills.
Key Responsibilities:Evaluate patients' physical, psychological, and social aspects under RN supervision in both healthcare and housing units, contributing to tailored treatment plans and consulting with RNs and staff as required.
Carry out prescribed treatment programs, administer medications including IV therapy (if certified), conduct diagnostic tests following established protocols.
Participate in controlled substance checks at each shift start, maintain safety protocols, respond to emergencies within defined guidelines.
Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement diet plans, document nursing encounters using SOAP charting for effective communication with the healthcare team.
Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions, showcasing a commitment to continuous professional growth and adherence to care standards.Qualifications & Requirements:
Education Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
Experience Preferably one (1) year of clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Must possess and sustain current LPN/LVN licensure within the state of employment.
