- Perform medical procedures as necessary.
- Prescribe medications and treatments.
- Assess patient health through interviews and physical examinations.
- Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals.
- Maintain patient medical records.
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
- Adheres to policy, procedures, and contractual agreement of the Watts Health Center and Watts Health Foundation, Inc.
- Acts as the official medical representative for Foundation with other contracted facilities to ensure adherence to prescribed medical practice and procedures.
- Reviews and acts upon diagnostic test results as appropriate; ensures patients are aware of test results; documents acknowledgement of results and actions taken in patients' record.
- Adheres to template structure and maximizes the use of available visits to address clinic and patient needs.
- Communicates patient care priorities, especially follow-up plans that involve non-providers (e.g., high-risk patients that need Care Manager follow-up).
- Fosters a collaborative culture and effective teamwork.
- Supports the development and implementation of new clinical initiatives.
- May perform other duties as assigned by the CMO.
- MD or DO degree, with current licensure in the State of California.
- 3 years' experience in one or more of the following: medical practice, teaching or investigative medicine.
- Minimum of one (1) year administrative and supervisory experience required.
- Certification in a medical specialty.
- Previous experience as a physician.
- Advanced knowledge of treatment and drug interactions.
- Ability to build rapport with patients.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Working knowledge of direct patient care methods and practices in a community clinic setting.
