    Job Summary:
    The Advisor, Talent Assessment is responsible for executing on the firmwide assessment strategy for hiring and developing talent. The Advisor serves as a subject matter expert on the research, validation, and implementation of new assessments.

    This role also consults with management and HR professionals to interpret assessment results and ensure effective use of our tools.

    This role will also play a key part in expanding our use of assessments to jump start onboarding and career development for our workforce.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Partners with Talent Development leaders, professionals, and coordinators to expand and deliver assessment offerings for career and skill development of our workforce
    • Partners with Talent Acquisition leadership, recruiters, and coordinators to deliver effective pre-hire assessment solutions
    • Participates in vendor calls and meetings to gather information on new assessments, reviews test manuals, gathers and compiles validity evidence, and draws conclusions about test validity and utility
    • Recommends assessment tools that are effective, fair, and a good fit with our culture
    • Recommends validation and implementation approaches for roles such as leadership, sales, financial advisor trainees, and rotational and high-potential programs
    • Leads internal validation projects: data gathering, analysis, reporting, and recommendations
    • Develops and delivers educational/training materials on assessments; trains HR professionals and managers on the effective use of assessments for hiring and development
    • Consults with management on pre-hire results interpretation
    • Consults with associates and management on results interpretation for development assessments (e.g., RAMP, and other programs/clients)
    • Evaluates job requirements and determines appropriate assessment batteries
    • Maintains assessment battery records and completes scheduled periodic reviews of accuracy
    • Analyzes data and produces reports on assessment usage, pass rates, group differences, and success metrics
    • Provides supplemental targeted interview questions that align with insights gained from the assessment
    • Provides back up support for corporate testing administration
    • Leads moderate to large-scale projects and supports Talent Assessment team on department and firm-wide initiatives
    • Supports the Organizational Effectiveness team with organizational surveys, 360s, competency models, and employee engagement efforts
    • Supports other talent measurement projects as needed

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:

    • Job analysis
    • Assessment centers
    • Test development and validation
    • Survey design
    • EEOC laws governing the use of assessments for selection
    • Research design and analysis principles and methodologies, sufficient to conduct organizational studies
    • Working structure, policies, mission and strategies of the organization
    • Concepts, principles and practices of the financial services industry
    • Data analysis methodology using Excel and SPSS

    Skill in:

    • Analyzing assessment and selection tools and processes
    • Analyzing jobs and determining appropriate knowledge and skill assessment processes
    • Designing and conducting assessment and validation research
    • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications

    Ability to:

    • Partner effectively with associates in Human Resources and other areas of the business
    • Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressed
    • Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
    • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
    • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization

    Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Resources, or Measurement related field and two (2) years' experience
    • Master's degree with some business experience preferred
