- Conduct clinical laboratory testing across various disciplines (Blood Bank, Microbiology, serology, chemistry, hematology, or urinalysis) following standardized protocols.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and hospital policies.
- Oversee daily operations and workflow within a designated laboratory area.
- Provide direction and mentorship to CLS and non-licensed staff.
- Maintain and update laboratory policies, procedures, and quality control practices.
- Adapt to new testing technologies as they emerge.
- Proven knowledge of laboratory testing processes in assigned sections.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
- Provide work direction and mentorship to laboratory staff.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Implement and maintain quality control practices.
- Ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Identify and implement ways to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the laboratory.
- Embrace and adapt to changes in protocol and technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effectively communicate with physicians, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related field (preferred).
- 2 - 5 years of experience
- CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) Certification.
- Meets CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) requirements for technical supervisor.
- Successful completion of an accredited laboratory training program
- Will float to all laboratory areas as needed.
