PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The IT Systems Engineer I position serves as the foundation for more senior roles within the IT department.

Candidates will possess the experience and skills to assist and serve by providing technical insights to project managers and stakeholders regarding IT system solutions being deployed within the enterprise environment.

The IT Systems Engineer I will be expected to support the design, configuration, delivery and maintenance of IT solutions under the guidance of a Sr.

Must have the aptitude to understand and support IT infrastructure, product and platform solutions.

Must be able to support the des ign and delivery of fundamental IT system initiatives, to include cloud, non-cloud, and hybrid-cloud systems.

Work in collaboration with other IT teams, leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project/design teams, in all aspects of the secure & reliable hosting of applications throughout Exelon's large & complex enterprise and real time operational environments.

Note:
This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Assist with supporting leadership, architecture, project teams and end users to identify system requirements. Assists with writing system specifications, logical & physical architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.

Delivers practical, efficient, and cost-effective solutions that satisfy business needs, including hands-on configuration, troubleshooting and optimization and supporting metrics for the same.

Work closely with others to assist development of future plans, resource requirements, migration strategies, and project schedules. Provide input into presentations to Engineering and Architecture Review Boards.

Responsible for engineering, documenting, implementing and supporting solutions at the component level, including hands-on configuration, troubleshooting and optimization and supporting metrics for the same.

Provide supporting data to leadership and peers about risks identified during business impact analysis, site risk assessments and disaster recovery planning.

Design, support and maintain custom system integration with other platforms, specific to the needs of the customers.

Assist with designing, implementing, supporting, and documenting infrastructure systems Develop and maintain knowledge of technology and its application across our business areas or for our customers Promote knowledge via seminars, presentations and publications within IT and Exelon Participate in technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex business problems Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline.

Conducts work assignments under direct supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Computer Networking with - 4 years' experience in IT infrastructure design, application design, cloud computing, disaster/recovery, or 3-6 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated ability to think and apply skillset beyond the day-to-day operations
Basic knowledge of financial impact analysis

Troubleshooting & Monitoring:
Understand basic monitoring concepts and how tools are used to meet those requirements. May require help to troubleshoot complex issues.

Cloud Technologies:
Provide technical expertise and/or engineering support for cloud solutions

Scripting & Automation:
Ability to create simple scripts

Experience administrating servers on-prem (physical and virtual) and in Microsoft Azure
Experience with scripting language such as PowerShell
Certifications such as Azure Administrator, VMware, and Windows Server preferred.
Demonstrated ability with knowledge in current versions of VMware hypervisor technology.

Understanding of change management principles associated with sustaining high availability of systems and preventing change related incidents due to human performance factors.

Independence level:
works under supervision of Team Leads and/or Manager.
Manage, Design and Provide Oversight for Microsoft Windows servers from both a hardware and operating system standpoint.

Manage, Design and Provide Oversight for VMware vSphere hypervisor to allow hosting of servers in a virtualized highly available environment.

Implement and maintain server processes and configurations
Support the production release management system for documenting, planning, and implementing IT changes.
Plan, coordinate, communicate and implement security patching activities for wintel server platforms.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Provide 24x7 support and participate in on call rotation for critical production systems in support of the Wintel Operations teams for escalation
