    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Utilizing a Koinonia owned vehicle, theDriveris responsible for assisting and ensuring the health and safety of transporting individuals served by Koinonia, under the supervision of the Transportation Manager. This role provides coverage in the absence of other Driversand/orBus Monitors. When not needed to cover a route, theDriver will be assigned other duties to fulfill their fulltime requirement such as (but not limited to) taking vehicles to vendors for repair or maintenance. Routes and schedules are generated by the Transportation Manager based on the needs of Koinonia. Availability is required for a split shift 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the afternoon (6:30am-10:30am & 1:00pm-5:00pm).

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Safety Operations- 45%

    1. Provide safe, courteous, and efficient door-to-door transportation.
    2. Assist individuals on and off vehicles ensuring that seat belts and/or wheelchair lap belts are properly secured.
    3. Operate wheelchair lift device when necessary to board and de-board consumers; ensure that wheelchair brakes are locked while lift is in motion, position wheelchairs in vehicle and secure them to the vehicle.
    4. Maintain order and proper behavior of individuals while on scheduled routes, attempt to resolve disputes, document and report severe incident/behavior cases.
    5. Evacuate vehicle in a safe and timely manner when necessary.
    6. Assist with other routes when breakdowns or other unusual circumstances occur as assigned.
    7. Knowledge of the Ohio State Motor Vehicle Code, Cuyahoga Board of DD, and Koinonia Homes, Inc. policy and procedures as it relates to the operation of vehicles used in transporting individuals.
    8. Attend all meetings, programs, and in-service training as assigned.
    Reports/ Communications- 20%
    1. Receive driving assignments and schedules; plan and modify routes as needed based on passenger cancellations, transfers, no-shows, or other changes caused by changing service needs.
    2. Complete and maintain a variety of records, logs, and reports including but not limited to: arrival and departure times for each pick-up and drop-off; identifying passenger cancellations and no-shows; vehicle inspections; mileage logs, maintenance request, driving hazards, accident, Non Medical Transport (NMT) billing reports and/or passenger incidents etc.
    3. Notify Transportation Supervisor regarding any changes in route or availability for additional assignments whenever extra time exists on the schedule.
    4. Ability to understand and effectively communicate in both oral and written formats.
    5. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with managers and co-workers.
    Schedule- 10%

    Route Awareness- 10%
    1. Knowledge of the streets and highways of Cuyahoga County and related areas.
    2. Ability to read and interpret a map.
    3. Ability to read and interpret route sheets
    Maintenance- 5%
    1. Conduct daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspection of assigned vehicle prior to beginning route; immediately report all defects needing repair.
    2. Basic knowledge of preventive/malfunction maintenance requirements of automotive equipment.
    Customer Service -10%
    1. Recognizes individual person's (customer's) needs and expectations.

    5. Complies with the requirements of checking e-mails on a regular basis.
    6. Responsible for the proper use of the payroll system. Accountable for accuracy of employee time and data input.
    7. Accountable for the accurate and timely submission of financial data to the Finance Department. Submits expense reports on a timely basis. Submits accurate records for billable services for billing purposes.
    8. Responsible for the processes to ensure the confidentiality, security and integrity of data and that the information is maintained and protected against loss, destruction, tampering and unauthorized destruction or use.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • One year experience.
    • Ability to work with tight deadlines and with individuals that need a lot of assistance.
    • Must be able to work a ten-hour split shift that comprises 8 hours paid work.
    • Microsoft Office
    • Must pass a DOT physical
    • Must possess a valid Ohio Drivers License
    • Must be able to comply with Koinonia Home's insurance requirements:CDL – Class B with a (P) passengers endorsement
      • At least 25 years old with (3) three years of driving experience
      • Clean driving record – Clean driving record – with no more than (4) four points or (2) two moving violations for past (3) three years
    • Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and PBS certification.
