    Criminal Law Defense Attorney

    Location: Mesa, AZ or Phoenix, AZ

    Overview:

    As a Criminal Law Defense Attorney, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert legal representation to clients facing criminal charges in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. You will work closely with a dynamic team of legal professionals to safeguard the rights and interests of clients through strategic and ethical legal defense strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of criminal law, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to upholding the principles of justice.

    Responsibilities:

    Client Representation: Provide high-quality legal representation to clients facing a wide range of criminal charges, including but not limited to, white-collar crimes, drug offenses, assault, theft, DUI, and more.

    Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research to analyze case precedents, statutes, regulations, and legal strategies pertinent to each case. Use research findings to develop effective defense strategies.

    Case Strategy Development: Collaborate with clients to understand their unique situations and goals and formulate comprehensive defense strategies tailored to their needs. Strategically assess evidence, witness statements, and other case components to build a strong defense.

    Courtroom Advocacy: Represent clients in court proceedings, including pre-trial hearings, motions, trials, and appeals. Present compelling arguments, cross-examine witnesses, and handle evidentiary challenges.

    Negotiation and Settlement: Engage in negotiations with prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, and opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes, such as reduced charges, plea bargains, or alternative sentencing options when appropriate.

    Client Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with clients throughout the legal process. Educate clients on legal rights, potential outcomes, and the progress of their cases, ensuring they make informed decisions.

    Documentation and Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain accurate and organized legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and client files. Ensure compliance with all court filing requirements and deadlines.

    Legal Consultations: Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients, answering questions and addressing concerns related to their cases.

    Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, investigators, and support staff within the firm to leverage collective knowledge and resources for comprehensive client representation.

    Continuing Education: Stay up to date with changes in criminal law, legal procedures, and relevant regulations. Participate in professional development activities, such as seminars, workshops, and training sessions.

    Qualifications:

    Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

    Admission to the Arizona State Bar and in good standing.

    Minimum of two years of experience as a practicing criminal defense attorney.

    In-depth knowledge of federal and Arizona state criminal laws and procedures.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    Proven track record of achieving positive outcomes for clients.

    Courtroom experience, including trial and appellate advocacy.

    Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.

    High ethical standards and commitment to client confidentiality.
