    Position: Temporary Operations Technician

    Department: Production

    Location: 527 Spring Road, Port Angeles, WA, 98362

    Pay: $20.00/hr. plus differential pay of $1/hr for weekend shifts

    Hours: Tuesday – Saturday 7:00am – 4:30pm

    Summary: This position is responsible for providing support to the production team with the processing of fresh and dehydrated mushrooms for nutritional supplements. Ensuring tasks are performed in a safe and sanitary manner following all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's). This position is a very physical position. This position is a temporary position, as a temporary worker your assignment will not exceed 6 months. Your department duties will be based on the company's business needs, which may vary weekly.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following, other duties that may be assigned:

    • Milling of raw mushrooms into powder form
    • Ability to hand-mix mushroom powders according to prescribed formulary
    • Ability to operate all equipment according to work instruction and training, detect issues, and troubleshoot
    • Complete accurate documentation and data entry
    • Promote a work environment that meets cGMP regulations by following all established procedures and completing all required cGMP training
    • Ensure a safe work environment by following and enforcing all safety rules, maintaining strong safety awareness, and participating in required safety training and meetings
    • Fosters teamwork by collaborating with peers, and assisting as needed to meet all daily objectives.
    Requirements:

    Education & Experience:

    • At least 6 months of related experience in manufacturing/production field

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Ability to carry out detailed oral and/or written instructions and effectively communicate.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must pay close attention to detail.
    • Portions of this position are in a cGMP area, therefore masks, lab coats, and hair/beard nets must be worn. No makeup, perfumes, acrylic or artificial nails, or jewelry are allowed in cGMP work areas.
    • Participates in all team meetings, sharing ideas on continuous process improvement with the supervisor and team members.

    Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, area, circumference, volume, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods & heavy lifting required, must be able to lift up to 49 lbs. This position is a VERY PHYSICAL POSITION due to the processing techniques. The work environment can be noisy requiring PPE; conditions may include exposure to extreme temperatures, occasional exposure to outdoor weather, and slippery surfaces.

    Language Skills: Ability to read and analyze technical procedures. Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Interpersonal Skills: Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts, and to understand communications from others. Ability to maintain composure, listen, and respond appropriately.
