    Chaplain

    The BLC Staff Chaplain provides spiritual care services to residents, families, and staff, using his/her theological and clinical training to help them cope more effectively. The BLC Staff Chaplain assesses the residents spiritual practices/values and assists in accommodating and integrating these values into the plan of care and communicates the spiritual assessment results as needed to the residents interdisciplinary care team. The BLC Staff Chaplain helps the resident/family to understand implications of the care plan in the framework of their spiritual beliefs, to work through difficult issues, and to support the interdisciplinary care team.The BLC Staff chaplain reports directly to the Director of Pastoral Care.

    Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.

    Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.

    Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.

    Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.

    Look for, and share with leadership, ideas for improvement in the organization.

    Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.

    Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Ordained Baptist Minister

    Education Required: Bachelors Degree in Theology or Pastoral studies.

    Education Preferred: Master of Divinity degree.

    Certification:One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or willingness to obtain within one calendar year.
