- Design, develop and validate TI thermal Modules & Systems products from concept to production.
- Ideate, propose, and develop new solutions (ex, methods to integrate components more efficiently)
- Interface with account and platform managers as well as customers to determine product requirements.
- Establish design parameters to ensure that product design is feasible for manufacturing.
- Provide direction to designers with consideration for fabrication, processing and assembly of the product.
- Implement design through a formal program of AQP.
- Approve all product-engineering drawings: identify or establish performance and material specifications.
- Analyze components for relevant failure modes and create formal documentation (DFMEA).
- Validate all designs and prepare reports summarizing results (e.g., DVP&R).
- Simplify and standardize current and new designs to maximize economic benefits.
- Coordinate prototype orders, build and submission.
- Ensure program objectives are met.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Understanding of thermal systems and architectures with focus refrigerant and coolant systems for BEV and PHEV
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to manage program events such that engineering objectives are met.
- Ability to formulate and implement solutions to design problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficient in MS Office programs.
- 3 to 5 year experience in field of thermal systems preferred
- Minimum of BSME or related engineering degree
- Strong project management experience preferred
- Knowledge of thermal system components including pumps, valves, etc. preferred
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.
- Travels to plant, supplier, and customer sites.
- Occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds and frequently carries up to 15 pounds.
- Maneuvers in, around, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
- Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending. Works at telephone answering equipment, design equipment, and at a PC.
- Works within an engine components manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
