    Description


    A leading Environmental Civil Engineering firm is seeking Industrial Wastewater Treatment Design Engineer/Project Manager to join their team in the Boston MA, Princeton NJ, Parsippany NJ, New Haven CT or Philadelphia PA area.


    The successful candidate will be focused on the engineering design aspects of wastewater treatment in a variety of industrial environments and will interface with multidisciplinary teams (both internal and external) to solve complex client issues.


    The Role:


    Design of water and wastewater treatment systems for the removal of solids, metals, VOCs, and other parameters, as project requirements and regulations dictate.

    Selection and design of physical and biological treatment processes, including chemical precipitation, ion exchange, clarification, filtration, and adsorption.
    Development of system process flow diagrams, water balance, and Process/Instrumentation Diagrams.
    Design, implementation, and management of treatability and pilot studies.

    Support teams in investigating the causes of non-compliances with permit terms/effluent limitations as well as treatment system issues, develop thorough investigation plans and reports, and develop and implement corrective action plans.

    Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), operation and maintenance (O&M) plans, and provide site-specific operator training.

    Manage and provide direction to internal and external wastewater treatment experts and design teams to facilitate system upgrades, troubleshooting, etc.

    Provide direct oversight and management of junior and mid-level staff for specific project assignments, and overall training and mentoring of staff on the team.

    Travel to client sites as needed to support project and client needs.


    The Candidate:
    Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering.

    Master's degree preferred.8+ years of experience working in the environmental engineering field, with a minimum of 5 years focused on water and wastewater projects.

    Minimum of 5 years direct consulting experience.
    Professional Engineer (PE) license or wastewater operator's licensure a plus.40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
    Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and projects.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
    Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
