- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using oxy-acetylene / plasma cutting, and GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, OAW, and SMAW welding techniques and equipment.
- Maintains quality control and tolerances, minimizing heat distortion and oxidation.
- Prepares, fabricates, assembles, and welds parts and surfaces to be welded.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Performs other related carpentry duties as assigned.
- This is a safety-sensitive position. Applicants will be expected to participate in ongoing safety and health training.
- 5 years of experience in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding.
- Thorough understanding of the use and maintenance of machines and tools used in welding and fabrication.
- Ability to examine and follow blueprints and drawings; Take or read measurements for layout and procedures.
- Ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding and carpentry assignments.
- Display basic computer skills.
- Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers.
- Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, guidelines, and company policies.
- Attentive to detail and situational awareness.
- Valid WA State driver's license and a good driving record.
- Reliable transportation to commute to job sites.
- Ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner as a representative of the company.
- Ability to pass drug screening.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- WABO (Washington Association of Building Officials) certifications desired.
- Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Comfortable with working from heights by use of ladders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.
- Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time, fully squat, bend or kneel while wearing a tool belt.

Schuchart is looking for a highly skilled Welder to join our team and contribute to various construction efforts. In this role, the welder will be expected to fabricate, weld and repair a wide variety of applications using the SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW welding processes. The ideal candidate will need to be able to read and follow engineer drawings and independently assess projects and innovate solutions following a safe work culture.
