SUMMARY: To examine each individual and develop a mobility plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, Physical Therapists work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness-and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. Meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.

This position reports directly to the Medical Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Perform tests and measures to identify potential and existing musculoskeletal problems.
b) Provide interventions and to modify interventions as necessary to achieve goals and/or expected outcomes.
c) Conduct re-examinations and create plan of care.
d) Manage movement dysfunctions and enhance physical and functional abilities.
e) Restore, maintain, and promote optimal physical function, wellness, and quality of life.
f) Prevent onset, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from disease, diagnosis, or injury.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Licensed physical therapist with the state of Nevada
5-10 years of both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy work
Strong Neuro and orthopedic skills a must
Dry needling certification or willingness to obtain one, preferred
Sports ortho, neuro medicine experience and working with children and PEDs a plus
Must have a mindset of mobility and getting kids back to being active
Ability to change approaches to care when working with PEDs to older, teenage children
Competent in knowing orthopedic skills to interact with physicians and evaluate patient needs

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Graduate of an accredited college with a masters or doctorate degree
Current, unrestricted Nevada physical therapy license
Outpatient physical therapist with patient population experience in one or more areas: Hematology, Oncology, Rheumatology, Neurology and Pediatric

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The position can be physically demanding, because PTs often have to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, and stand for long periods. In addition, physical therapists move heavy equipment and lift patients or help them turn, stand, or walk.

Must be able to handle several face to face and telephone contacts daily. Must be able to provide quality customer services against regular background noise and conversation and to hear and speak clearly over the telephone. Regularly needs to bend, stoop, and reach to file and organize supplies in cabinets.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
