    Job Description:

    The PSM (Process Safety Management) site leader is a critical role to enhance our dynamic and growing team. The incumbent will have overall responsibility for managing the PSM program and compliance obligations at the High Point, NC facility. Reporting to the EHS&S Manager, the PSM site leader will lead risk assessment, maintain up-to-date process safety information, oversee accountability in change management process and collaborate with other members of the site leadership team to champion improvement in the site process safety culture.

    Responsibilities
    • Lead the site Process Safety Management program in compliance with OSHA 29CFR Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals, and good industry practices in process safety management.
    • Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) per Axalta internal standards and industry best practices. Recommend appropriate engineering controls for mitigation of event.
    • Assist site management in ensuring all PHA recommendations are tracked to closure within the required timelines.
    • Provide oversight to Management of Change (MOC) by maintaining and auditing MOC and Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR) records and procedures.
    • Support plant initiatives and capital projects by providing PSM expertise and insight from planning to completion.
    • Manage the collection and documentation of site process safety information (PSI), in collaboration with other site personnel, to ensure documentation is accurate, accessible, and up to date.
    • Coordinate a sustainable approach to PSM self-audits and inspections.
    • Act as the primary site process safety resource for consultation with site personnel and plant personnel.
    Qualifications and Education Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field) preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years chemical industry experience working in a PSM covered facility
    • Demonstrated knowledge of all 14 elements of PSM including PHA (Process Hazard Analysis), MOC (Management of Change) and PSSR (Pre-Start Up Safety Review)
    Required Skills
    • Expertise in application of HAZOP/What-If, Root Cause Analysis, Management of Change, and Process Control
    • Demonstrated experience leading PSM audits and effectively driving closure of open items
    • Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment (leading and participating) with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • High level of personal motivation, with a drive for ownership and accountability in performance of job responsibilities
    • Commitment to the highest level of integrity and ethical standards
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization.
    • Demonstrated experience in root cause investigation techniques.
    Preferred Skills
    • Process and/or Project Management Experience
    • Knowledge of LOPA (Layers of Protection Analysis) and RAGAGEP (Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practice)
