    Job Summary

    The Laundry Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our facilities. This position involves sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and folding linens, as well as operating equipment safely and efficiently.

    Responsibilities

    • Sorts soiled linen by fabric type
    • Loads and unloads washing machines and dryers according to fabric type
    • Removes terry from dryer and loads completed work in carts
    • Fed clean linen through an ironer press and loads completed work in carts
    • Uses chemicals safely and securely
    • Wears eye protection when handling chemicals or using spot treatment chemicals
    • Learns operating times of washers and dryers, chemicals, and required settings for each fabric type
    • Keeps the laundry area clean and cleans all equipment and work areas
    • Observes proper safety practices and reports any unsafe conditions
    • Monitors laundered items for sub-standard condition and sets aside for troubleshooting
    • Applies stain removing chemicals to reclaim stains and returns items to inventory
    • Discards unreclaimable items per property discard policy
    • Keeps production counts with each shift and tracks reclaimed and discarded items
    • Delivers and picks up terry and linen
    • Assists housekeepers by stripping hotel guest rooms of terry and linen
    • May assist housekeeping by stocking linen closets with clean terry and linen
    • Operates the box truck lift gate safely
    • Notifies the laundry lead, room inspector, or supervisor if equipment needs adjustment or repair

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. You should be knowledgeable about company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
