    Description
    AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies.

    However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Extract and transform data for actuarial analysis; perform analysis to assess data quality and reasonability.
    Develop, test, and implement algorithms to create actuarial datasets.
    Assist with managing and modernizing our processes for developing rate indications, creating filing exhibits and managing rating algorithms.
    Consolidate and categorize data into various report formats for use by management, committees, and insurance companies.
    Assist with data governance and stewardship responsibilities for the actuarial department.
    Respond to queries and requests from AIPSO's internal and external customers.
    Serve as technical lead to the actuarial team on other data and technology projects as needed.
    Create and maintain process documentation.
    Identify and act upon opportunities to streamline and automate processes.
    Provide recommendations and training to other team members on technology tools.

    Education

    Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) majoring in mathematics, statistics, or related field from a four-year college or university. Additional appropriate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

    Experience

    1 to 3 years of experience in data analysis field, working with databases and analytical tools. Experience using databases, spreadsheets, statistical software, and computer languages to compile and categorize data. Adhere strictly to procedures and quality control standards.

    Skills & Knowledge


    Strong working knowledge of using either R or Python, as well as Microsoft Excel, to manipulate and analyze data, and to implement statistical and analytical techniques; ability to use SQL to access data.

    Strong data presentation skills, including familiarity with using visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.
    Familiarity with actuarial concepts, techniques, and data.
    Strong analytical skills to analyze, interpret and question data.

    Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze complex issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting.

    Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.

    Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
    Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
    Mathematical skill and reasoning ability to validate data, ensuring accuracy presented in reports and exhibits.
    Knowledge of the insurance industry and related regulations preferred.

    Salary Range
    :
    $49,700 - $79,500/$59,400 - $95,000 Annual . Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment.
