    We are seeking a skilled and experienced DB2 Engineer Architect to join our team at Diaconia. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of DB2 database systems. You will work closely with our IT team and stakeholders to ensure the integrity, performance, and security of our database systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and implement database structures that meet the business requirements while ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
    • Perform database tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
    • Develop and implement strategies for data acquisition, archive recovery, and database implementation.
    • Ensure the security of database systems by implementing appropriate access controls and encryption methods.
    • Collaborate with IT team members and stakeholders to understand their database needs and provide technical support.
    • Lead and mentor junior database administrators and developers.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in database management and security.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • 5+ years of Proven experience as a DB2 Engineer Architect or similar role.
    • Strong understanding of DB2 database design, architecture, and data modeling.
    • Experience with database migration, installation, upgrades, and patch management.
    • Proficient in SQL, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
    • Knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
    • U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED to support our Federal client **NO EXCEPTIONS**

    Preferred Skills:

    • Certification in DB2 database administration or similar.
    • Familiarity with other database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
    • Experience with cloud services and database-as-a-service platforms.
