    As Tableaus Viz Rendering & Interactions Team, we put the see in Tableaus mission to help people see and understand data.

    We draw the pixels that compose our visualizations and make them come to life with intuitive interactions that encourage exploration.

    Knowing that visuals are not accessible for all users, we also provide auditory paths to understanding data.

    We are currently working on two ambitious projects that will become broadly available in 2024: 1.

    Viz Extensions, which will enable users to BYO viz type to Tableau, greatly expanding the universe of ways you can explore and present data, and 2.

    Viz Keyboard Navigation, which will make Tableaus visualizations accessible to users who rely on a keyboard and screen reader.

    Depending on your start date, you may work on one or both of these initiatives, and of course, we have more in store as well.

    ResponsibilitiesTake a leadership role on the design and delivery of new functionality the team is buildingChip in to the long-term vision for the Tableau vizPartner with other teams throughout the company looking to build new functionality on top of our workCoach and mentor other engineers, from entry-level to seniorInfluence our technical and operational standard methodologiesJoin a collaborative, supportive team who will want to help you succeedRequired Skills5+ years of professional software development experienceExperience leading the design and implementation of significant feature or platform work, including guiding other engineers.

    Prior experience with C++, Qt, C#, TypeScript, React, D3, Bazel, rendering, data visualization, API design, or accessibility would be an asset.

    For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $172,500 to $237,200. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
