    Job Description

    SUMMARY Operates and maintains forklift to supply production operations with raw materials to produce finished product, transfers finished product to storage or staging area and ensures finished product is loaded onto trucks in a timely manner to meet customer delivery requirements.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    The Forklift Driver has the authority to shut down production equipment to prevent the production defective product.

    Preform daily operational check of forklift. Cleans forklift after use.

    Continually inspect raw materials and product for defects.

    Strap and load gaylords.

    Load pallets and plastic onto trailers.

    Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area

    Print production tickets and attach to finished product.

    Scan finished product into storage area or onto trailer for shipment to customer.

    Load / unload dunnage trailers.

    Unload preforms and sort into proper areas

    Load pallets and plastic onto trailers

    Move raw materials.

    Make proper paperwork for incoming & outgoing materials

    Sitting/Driving up to 12 consecutive hours (including breaks)

    Wears all required personal protective equipment.

    Maintains housekeeping of work areas.

    QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); One year forklift driving required. Related production/material handling experience desirable.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES Certificate and training in safe forklift operation are required.

    SAFETY Must attend all required Safety/OSHA training classes. Must adhere to all Safety Rules as posted in employee handbook and in the plant. All employees must adhere to the Amcor "No Injuries Program".

    QUALITY Must be GMP/HACCP/Food Security Trained.
