- Own the day-to-day technical condition of the Atlanta facility, including plant rooms, critical spaces, and supporting infrastructure.
- Carry out routine inspections, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and reactive maintenance across building services.
- Diagnose and resolve building-related faults, escalating where required.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, drawings, and maintenance documentation
- Own day-to-day operation and reliability of LV electrical systems, including switchgear, distribution boards, UPS systems, generators, ATS, and associated monitoring and control systems.
- Act as first-line electrical responder for site issues, faults, and alarms.
- Perform hands-on electrical fault finding and isolation in live operational environments.
- Support and oversee testing regimes such as load bank testing, generator runs, UPS maintenance, and IR scanning.
- Ensure safe systems of work are rigorously applied, including permit-to-work, LOTO, arc-flash awareness, and electrical switching procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise specialist electrical contractors when escalation is required.
- Operate and maintain HVAC systems including CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, air handling units, pumps, and control systems.
- Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow) and take corrective action as needed.
- Support seasonal changeovers, plant optimization, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Work with external HVAC contractors on servicing, repairs, and upgrades
- Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and company policies across building, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Support audits, inspections, and statutory testing.
- Actively promote a strong safety culture on site, challenging unsafe practices and escalating risks.
- Supervise on-site contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.
- Review method statements and risk assessments (RAMS).
- Act as site point-of-contact for specialist vendors.
- Respond to site incidents and outages, including out-of-hours support as part of an on-call or escalation Rota if required.
- Assist with minor projects, upgrades, and changes to building services and infrastructure.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement following incidents.
- Proven experience in an electrical or building services engineering role within a critical facility environment (data center, broadcast, industrial, healthcare, or similar).
- Strong, hands-on experience with LV electrical systems, UPS, and generators
- Demonstrated experience acting as on-call or primary electrical responder in live operational environments.
- Ability to safely fault-find, isolate, and restore electrical systems under pressure.
- Experience managing contractors and enforcing safe systems of work.
- Clear, professional communication and strong documentation skills.
- Experience in data centers, broadcast facilities, or other 24/7 critical infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with BMS / EMS systems.
- Understanding of electrical resilience design and redundancy (N+1, 2N). Qualifications
- Electrical apprenticeship, trade qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Relevant US electrical certifications or licenses preferred (state or local, where applicable).
- OSHA safety training (including LOTO and electrical safety) strongly preferred.
- HVAC or mechanical certifications are advantageous but secondary to electrical expertise.
- Fully site-based role in Atlanta, GA.
- Participation in a formal on-call rota is required, with responsibility for responding to electrical and facilities incidents outside of normal business hours.
- Flexibility required for planned maintenance windows, testing, and project work, including nights or weekends when necessary.
- A reliable, hands-on engineer who takes ownership of their site.
- Someone comfortable working independently but aligned with a wider engineering function.
