    What this job involves – Responsible for overseeing departmental operations, including research supplies inventory management, glassware washing, autoclaving, waste stream management, support reagent management program, media and buffer preparation, and consumable inventory management. Liaise with Shipping and Receiving, sample movement, and various providers for materials and services. Assists with the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and capital plan. Assists management in development and implementation of strategic initiatives.

    What is your day to day?

  • Proactively manage all Lab Services for the site in accordance with the Scope of Work (SOW) for the account, implementing client standard processes and procedures, ensuring superior customer satisfaction, sustaining a safe work environment and unit productivity.
  • Oversee and assure successful day-to-day self-perform and subcontracted service delivery to achieve and sustain service levels, reporting and documentation requirements to achieve highest level KPI performance targets.
  • Responsible for ensuring day-to-day assignments are completed, and roles and schedules are implemented. Lead the development and evaluation of staff to assure that Lab Services personnel receive necessary training in their roles, and develop staff for the purposes of cross-training and growth.
  • Be first point of contact with staff when service issues, equipment issues, access issues or requests outside the SOW need evaluation or resolution.
  • Participate in client and site working groups that involve laboratory activities, development of the site and areas that are dependent on Lab Services activities. Act as subject matter expert (as an end-user service provider) in projects that will interface with laboratory services.
  • Work with Site FM to manage Lab Services operating budgets for the assigned portfolio, proactively track variances and manage within target. Through effective scheduling, manage overtime expenditures while meeting client operational needs.
  • Achieve cost savings through maximizing utilization of staff, suppliers, preferred vendors/contractors, and identify additional efficiency opportunities, consistent with client goals.
  • Always assure sustained compliance with all legal, JLL and client codes, procedures, and policies. Communicate events, issues, and observations, in order to promote a safety culture - where recognized hazards are avoided through encouragement of "good catches."
  • Represent JLL to all staff, and all customers, presenting solution-oriented options in support of BMS mission to deliver medicines to patients.
  • Ensure compliance with portfolio wide initiatives, required local, state and federal laws and regulations, JLL audit and compliance requirements, and client compliance requirements that pertain to the operating of facilities entrusted to the Account team to manage on behalf of the client and/or owner.
  • Regularly attend and/or participate in training opportunities to maintain high technical, administrative and managerial competency levels.
  • Performs additional job duties as requested. May be required to perform tasks of other staff members when absent.
  • Required

  • Bachelor's degree in management, or a Laboratory Science; equivalent laboratory work experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of GxP guidelines, requirements, and environmental regulations preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Knowledge of client systems, documentation and qualification requirements for positions in Lab Services.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Preferred

  • 2-5 yrs. supervisory experience, with supervision of unionized staff preferred.
  • 5+ years lab experience, preferably within the Pharma industry.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in a regulated GxP environment such as the pharmaceutical, medical device, or other life science industry preferred.
  • Estimated compensation for this position is:

    87,000.00 – 127,200.00 USD per year
