    Business Coordinator

    The University of Pittsburgh's English Department is seeking a Business Coordinator who will assist the department by serving as the primary purchasing specialist within the English Department in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. The incumbent will perform specialized purchasing transactions, such as vendor quotes, and non-standard purchasing forms. The Business Coordinator provides travel and expense guidance, coordinates English department events in partnership with the Events team, and provides general office and administrative support. Works closely with the Administrative Officer, Humanities Division Fiscal Team, and Department Coordinator to ensure that expenses are tracked appropriately and meet requirements of University and Dietrich School policy. The incumbent supervises designated staff and student employees.

    Job Summary

    Facilitates bill processing, expenditure tracking, and account reconciliations. Maintains effective customer service and vendor coordination, validates and enters data, performs routine analyses, and assists with administrative budgetary activities.

    Essential Functions

    The successful candidate will use a computer extensively. They must be capable of oral, written, and electronic communications. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. In addition to a computer, they must be able to use a telephone and other general office equipment including but not limited to fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, printers, etc.

    Physical Effort

    This position is generally sedentary within an office setting, but the ability to travel around campus is occasionally necessary. Also, must be able to pick-up and carry 25 pounds.
