    Haugland Group, a family owned and operated Long Island, New York based electrical and heavy civil construction company has an immediate opportunity for an Environmental Compliance Project Engineer to join our team in Queens.

    This position will oversee compliance requirements and ensure they are met through day-to-day operations of the facility.

    KEY FUNCTIONS

    • Performing a variety of activities supporting the Port Authority of NY and NJ reporting requirements.
    • Performing field inspections and reviewing operations to confirm facilities are operating in accordance with standards.
    • Inspecting non-hazardous material storage areas and general process operations
    • Enforcing provisions of wastewater and storm water standards including Federal, State, and local regulations.
    • Creating and maintaining various types of reports and records to support compliance reporting requirements.
    • Assists in the research, development, implementation, and presentation of new programs.
    • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting requirements.
    • Keeping thorough records.
    • Performs related duties as required.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering as applied to environmental engineering; pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations applicable to environmental and safety compliance Principles and methods of conducting and analyzing complex water quality and environmental studies
    • Principles and methods of conducting safety risk assessments and onsite environmental inspections
    • Compile, interpret, and evaluate numerical data
    • Ability to provide technical guidance and expertise on environmental and safety compliance issues
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Safety, Civil, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field is required

    Compensation Goal for this role is 90-130k
